Don’t Sell Your Writing

Natural writers are selfish. They write in the first person, their thoughts are the only thoughts they know.

Everyone that writes in the second person is a salesperson. They are coming to your door to sell you an idea of yourself, or what your life could be if you buy what they are selling.

I’m not a salesman.

I am a natural writer. I say me, and I because I’m speaking from my perspective. I say we because we’re all in this together walking our journeys.

I don’t know you. I’ve never met you. I don’t know how you feel. I don’t know what you want. I would be lying to you if I did say I know you.

I do, however, know what I want. I do know me. And know I’m not going to pretend to be an overnight niche authority on the world’s stage.
