Stay faithful when no one is looking at you
You have to spend years in private before you can become rewarded in public.
All of the people you admire did one thing to get to where they are today. They practiced. Practice means putting in time and effort. Nothing worth having is going to come easy and I’m sure everyone who you think is great will tell you the same thing.
They put the time in when no one was there. They practiced their craft day and night to get better.
You can make a living from Medium. You can be in shape and you can have great relationships with the people you love but you have to put in time and effort.
Nobody is going to see the time and effort you put into making something work, they think it comes easy because you have gotten to the point where you make it look easy.
Think about lawyers. Being a lawyer is a title, but they practice law, that might be family law or business law. But they practice law. A lawyer can only win a case from practicing a certain type of law. You wouldn’t want your business law lawyer handling your family law issues, that’s not something they practice. They wouldn’t be great at it.
And if you want to be great at anything you have to practice.
