Stop talking about your work and Show it!
We love to talk and tell people about the new projects we’re working on.
My friend is starting a new business. And my current project is writing more online.
No doubt it’s fun hearing the projects my friends are working on. And it’s fun when I get to tell them what I’m doing.
But something hit me today.
These conversations only pump our ego and help us feel important. When in reality, nobody cares what new projects you’re working on.
They will only care when it’s finished.
I realize I need to make a change and not tell people what I’m working on but show them.
Ryan Holiday says, “Promotion is not how things are made great — only how they’re heard about.”
Stop promoting the ideas you’re tossing around to impress your friends and focus on doing the work.
Promote the finish, not the start.
Go through the process.
And only talk about your projects when they are finished. When you have the final product to show.
