No one is going to praise you for writing 1,000 words.

No one is going to praise you for writing 10,000 words.

No one is going to remember you wrote a 2,000-word article.

The least important part of your writing is your word count.

Having a target word count creates clutter in your writing. You’ll fill your work with unnecessary words, and examples to meet your word count and weaken the impact of your message.

Put your message before your word count.

Your message is most important.

Your message is what readers will remember.

Your message is what readers will carry with them along their journey.

The fewer words you use to get your message across the better your writing.

Your readers will appreciate your brevity.
