How to Become A More Generous Person
Freely I Give, Freely I Receive
Growing up my mom would make my sisters and I donate our coats, toys and older clothes. Even when we didn’t have a lot my mom would tell us to donate our belongings. I didn’t question it, I would just do it. I mean it’s my mom telling me to do it so I’m going to do it. But over time I realized I stopped donating physical and material possessions and I started to give away more.
I learned that giving doesn’t have to be physical possessions, giving doesn’t have to be money. There are other things that I give that are just as important and just as helpful.
These are things that we can all give away especially considering everything that is going on with the outside world.
Give Away Information
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
When I read I look at every writer as giving away what they have learned. That’s one of the reasons I love writing because I can give away what I know. I can give away what I love and what I’m learning in my writing. Information is one of the most valuable things to give away. The information you give away might help change someone’s life.
