Making it As a Creator

The Only Thing You Need to Remember

To make it as a creator you need to give more than you take.

While you do have needs as a creator, you have to understand the needs of your audience come first. Being a creator means you’re a leader.

Jesus said “Whoever wants to become great among you must be a servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.” in Mark verse 43–44.

Unfortunately, most creators don’t view this path as a way of making it, because it means putting others first and shifting their perspective from being me and I focused to you focused.

The creator who can’t give and put others first will be like the rich man refusing to follow Jesus (read Matthew 16–25).

A man came to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to have eternal life?”

Jesus tells the man he must obey the commands. The man tells Jesus he has obeyed the commands and asks what else does he need to do.

Jesus tells the man if he wants to be perfect, then go and sell all you own. Give the money to the poor and you will have riches in heaven.

The rich man became sad when Jesus told him to give away his money because he was rich and didn’t want to do it.

The creator is the rich man and will walk away sad because they don’t want to give. The creator will walk away sad because they will realize you can’t buy your way into making it as a creator. You can’t buy real followers.

Once the man has left Jesus tells his followers, “The truth is, it will be very hard for a rich person to enter God’s Kingdom. Yes, I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter God’s Kingdom.”

It’s hard to make it as a creator. While you might have the money and time to put towards making a living as a creator, the truth is you won’t start making it until you start giving.

The creator is providing a service to the audience in the form of skill, intelligence, wisdom, or knowledge in a relevant field. The creator should give information and resources that provide better outcomes to their audience.

The main point is being successful and making it as a creator should come down to making the people who engage with your content more successful.

Proverbs 11:25 says “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”

The generous at heart will succeed.
